Recurve K9 is a structured dog daycare, which means we are geared around training. All of our staff is PackPro and Dog Handler Academy Certified so they have the skills to manage our play groups and help reinforce basic obedience. We monitor behavior and social interactions very closely so your dog doesn’t learn any bad habits or get over-stimulated. We don't allow any activities that may lead to inappropriate behavior but we do encourage good habits & manners.
Imagine being in a room of screaming people for 8 to 10 hours a day- your sanity wouldn’t be very intact by the end of the day. Neither would your dog’s if they were in a room full of barking dogs all day! We strive to create a balanced environment so as to avoid any stress on our four legged companions. The reason we have scheduled pick up and drop off times is to avoid disruption of their routines and help to keep everyone on a similar activity schedule.
Check out the "A la cart" menu below to see some of the pawsome extras we can do for your dog while they are here in daycare!

We like to keep things interesting! So your dog's day will be structured and productive.
The key to managing a group of dogs is making sure that everyone is on the same page. We start by teaching the basics like "sit", "down", "leave it" and "wait at the gate" so that everyone can interact politely. We also incorporate impulse control and handler engagement to make it easier for us (and you!) to communicate with your dog.
Your dog will have access to our outdoor play area where they will have the opportunity to engage in higher energy play, relieve themselves and get some environmental stimulation with different textures and surfaces! We also work on generalizing basic obedience by practicing it outside too!
New dogs, puppies and adolescents may be kenneled once in a while for some down time with a stuffed Kong or frozen treat. During the afternoon we encourage down time for everyone by getting quiet and slowing things down. The reason we schedule down time is so that your dog doesn’t become an adrenaline junkie- constantly seeking high energy engagement for the rush! We also use this time for cleaning and sanitization.
We're super excited about our special seasonal activities that will be set up during different times of the year!
If it's your dog's birthday, let us know!
Prior to sending your pup to daycare (and boarding) we require an evaluation to make sure they will have fun and make lots of friends!
During your dog’s evaluation we’ll introduce them to dogs with different personality types one at a time so they don't get overwhelmed. We’ll also work to discover their play style and preferences.
Once you set up your account, add your pup and their vaccines, give us a call and we’d be happy to set up an appointment for their evaluation.
For vaccines we require :
While we don’t require them, we recommend Lyme and Lepto- especially for the dogs who go on group hikes.
We don't require a heartworm test but HIGHLY recommend it for the safety of your pup.
Your dogs proof of vaccines can be brought to us, emailed to vaccines@recurvek9.com or uploaded right into your account. Your vet should be able to email them for you as well.
Morning Window for drop off is between 6-10 am (full day or half day)
After 10 am you will be unable to drop off your dog until the next available window.
Midday Window for pick up or drop off is between 12-2pm- late arrival for pickup may result in a charge for a full day of daycare. You will not be able to drop your dog off for daycare after 2pm.
Afternoon Window for pick up is between 4:00-6:30 pm - we close at 6:30pm. There will be a $15 dollar late fee during the first 15 minutes after closing. If you are more than a half hour late, your dog will be boarded and you will be charged for a night of boarding.
Payment is expected the day of services (unless you have purchased a package) and a valid credit card must be kept securely on file.
NO DAYCARE ON WEEKENDS
Since we have limited spots, we require all dogs to attend daycare once a week so that they can retain their spot and stay familiar with the other dogs, our staff and our routines.
Regular daycare can be too much for puppies under 20 weeks of age. BUT we have programs specifically designed for puppies that offer a safe space for appropriate socialization! A full day may be too much for some puppies so our puppy daycare is typically only 4-6 hours.
If you are in need of longer days for your puppy, check out our Archer Puppy program! It includes longer days and some training! We work on basic leash skills, making sure your puppy's potty skills stay on course as well as an introduction to some basic obedience.
Puppies who are not spayed or neutered (but are at least 20 weeks old and appropriately vaccinated) may attend regular daycare and participate in group activities until at such a time as it is determined no longer socially appropriate or safe.
All dogs MUST be spayed or neutered by maturity in order to participate in our group activities (doggie daycare, field trips, group play times etc.) NO EXCEPTIONS! If you anticipate a delay in your dog’s spay or neuter, please let us know so we can determine if it is safe for your pet to stay and play with us.
We understand that medical advice has been updated and the recommendations for the age of spay and neuter has changed a bit. We will do the best we can to accommodate your pup but we have to keep the safety of others in mind as well.
We require that all dogs have proper identification on their collars. We will hold on to your pup's leash for the day but we do require that your leash have proper identification as well. Creating an extra tag and attaching it with a key ring is usually the best way to go.
If your dog takes daily medication make sure you note it in your intake forms, especially if they need to take medications during their time with us.
Please let us know if your dog has recently started a new medication as it can affect their behavior.
Who doesn't like to indulge while they're on vacation? Now your pup can too! Sometimes dogs can be finicky eaters when they are in a new environment so we've come up with ways to make their food more enticing during their stay with RcK9! Edible extras are a great way to help your dog learn to relax while they are in their crate!
Your dog will have so much fun they won't even know you're gone! Our enrichment program offers a fantastic outlet for your dog to expel some extra energy while they are here!
Everyone likes a little extra comfort when they're away from home.. You can elect to add extra blankets and snuggle times for your pup during their stay with us.
Some things you just can't live without.. like daily medications or special diets. We have options for everything! You can even sign your pup up for a go home bath so they are fresh and clean when they go home.
