We are a structured daycare, which means we are geared around training and focus on reinforcing good behavior while discouraging inappropriate behavior. We are extremely devoted to the care and well being of the pets in our care and only want the best for them. We are a community of true pet lovers with shared interests and values. We are committed to being a resource for all aspects of pet ownership including health and nutrition, training and the latest in general pet care. Daycare Attendants will be responsible for enrichment/ socialization activities at our daytime program as well as interacting with clients and potential clients on a daily basis.
Here is what a day in the life of a daycare attendant would look like:
Engage in enrichment/ socialization activities at our drop-off daytime program as well as interacting with clients and potential clients on a daily basis
Follows safe practices and procedures when handling dogs
Follows policies and procedures designated for our program that facilitates appropriate play and enrichment activities for adult dogs and puppies
Provide command reinforcement which support students who are also in training
Work with puppies on behavioral development exercises and crate training
Positively interact with pet parents in-person, via email, text and phone
Cleaning of facility and any equipment
Care and cleaning for our boarding dogs.
We will teach you a lot but we need you to have:
Must be 18 years or older
Experience in a dog daycare setting preferred
Ability to read and promote positive canine play
Excellent communication skills
Must have a love for dogs and a keen sense for animal safety
Must be observant
Physical Demands
Position requires person to work both indoors and outdoors
Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs
Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
Communicate with proper spelling and grammar via email/ text
Communicate with clients in a friendly, upbeat manner
The ability to remain calm in any situation
Additional Requirements
Must have reliable transportation
Some night, weekend and holiday shifts are required
